The pictures certainly don't do it justice firstly there are always about 3-4 big waves breaking at the same time, they break from so far out and the surge is unreal. The waves are nearly at our hotel and this is a pretty wide beach. The current is also ridiculously strong. I was going to try some surfing today but no chance.
Another fantastic day in paradise.
Backed up by one of the best sunsets yet.
Love this pic.
Our daily ritual is now heading down to the really cool bars along the beach from our hotel to have a few sundowners. All the bars have live acoustic bands playing which makes the atmosphere really magical.
Our bean bags are right at the front. Not such a great spot as Nat will soon find out.
Should have been a warning to Nat that the waves encroach up the beach pretty far.
The unsuspecting Nat.
Now unfortunately I have no pics as I was at the bar but Nat literally gets soaked by a huge wave that covers the table, bean bags and her. Unfortunately it also covers out bag with iPads, kindle and get iPhone in. iPhone now broken! I asked how she didn't see it coming and she was star gazing at the time. Would have been quite a picture!
That evening we head to the delightful Cafe Bali for dinner via a few drinks at Bar Soho first (there is a bar soho everywhere it seems!).
Cafe Bali is amazing. We are here at Chtistmas and it has for to be one of the best value meals in the world. Gorgeous food (sushi, steamed dumplings and Vietnamese spring rolls to start followed by chicken curry and pesto pasta for Nat). That with a few glasses of wine came to a utterly ridiculous £26! Unbelievable value and such a stunning place.
And that is the end of another fantastic day. It feels like we have been here so long as when we were traveling we got so used to moving on every 2-3 days. It's been such a nice break.
Ohhhhhhhhhh, Aaron- your photos are prettier and prettie every day.....fabulous sunset!! Poor Natty.....getting deluged by a mini tsunami!!!! Just happy that she was OK....quite funny with that hindsight!!! Shame about the iPhone though.....she is sooooo unlucky with phones. Cafe Bali is unbelieveable....gorgeous setting, food and prices! Really happy to hear that you're both relaxed and feeling the 'Benefit of Bali'.....we're feeling it remotely, too, Aaron- big thank you. Send you love and hugs- take great care xxxxxxx
