Day 145 - West Hollywood, California, USA

This blog should actually be renamed keeping up the Kardashians today but more on that later. 

But first, it is finally here - after 145 days we are on our last full day today. BOO! And why break the habit for the last day? Today we stick to our well polished and practiced plan of a nice breakfast, chill by the pool and then go for a great night out!

We start the day with breakfast in the courtyard at the gorgeous Palihouse hotel. We would have stayed here if it had a pool as it is seriously cool. 

Spring is definitely in full bloom here. 

We head back to the hotel up the steepest hill in LA. You forget how high up on the hill sunset is. Nearly killed us!

Past the House of Blue's. Such a cool venue and restaurant - looks like a haunted house. 

Back at the pool I take the opportunity for a sleep on our nice day bed. After waking up and searching everywhere for my phone we manage to find it by noticing the phone mark etched into my back - I had been asleep on it. Doh!

That evening we have booked a table at the fabulous Cicconi's for a slap up last dinner. Rude not to stop off in the Back Room for one on the way which is fast becoming our local!

We have an absolutely gorgeous dinner at Cecconi's. It really is a great restaurant with a great atmosphere. We were sat on a table right outside a room that had a private event on which was prime celeb spotting territory or more accurately... Keeping up with the Kardashian's territory. First up was Kim. Nat noticed her walk towards us and then based on where we were sitting I had the absolute pleasure of watching her amazing ass walk down the hall and out in this smoking hot dress below. Not a bad starter.

This one was hilarious. We are just off the side of this one stood the other side of the cone. Good job the papperazzi flashes were going off as I would have had no idea!

This is Chloe (I think?) and apparently the guy is some rapper (no he actually is - I am not even just being stereotypical!)

And then steadily we tick off the rest of the Kardashian clan in what has now become Kardashian bingo between courses. Luckily I have Nat here as clearly I have no idea who they are. Def prefer coming face to face with Kim's ass as opposed to Tommy Lee Jones' wrinkly face. 

After we walk back towards the hotel past some hilarious sights as we go through what can only be described as a raging gay area. Every bar seemed to have a naked man on a pole gyrating away. 

It's official... This is the gayest shop on earth. 

The sign says it all. 

We then go to THE best bar I have EVER been in. For those that don't know I am a big fan of a god American dive bar - the sort of places that are dark and dingey, have neon beers signs on the walls, a great juke box and a good selection of beer. This place, Barney's Beanery hits the spot on all of them. Such a cool bar and apparently a bit of a legendary place around here. 

We get talking to a local guy called Jonathan, who, naturally, was in television and is the sound guy in Homeland and Ray Donovan. After chatting for a while he points out that the seat next to us was Jim Morrisons seat. Apparently this was his local and after he died they dedicated the seat to him and te remaining Doors even came down to sign the plaque that now sits on the bar. For those that have read the Jim Morriaon biography this is where he stood on the bar and urinated on it! Glad they didn't decide to turn that into a shrine.

And then to top it all off THE BAR HAS SUFFLEBOARD!! Absolutely love this game. 

Time to take Nat down. 

But it doesn't go to plan at first with Nat and her very lucky shots....

But I soon turned it around for a 101 to 98 victory. Boom!

We stay here until we get kicked out at 1:30am and then head to Saddle Ranch for the fastest drink ever. Little did we know at 1:56 when the barmaid served us a pint each we had 6 minutes I drink it and literally get off the premises. None of this bar closing and you have 20 mins to drink up here. It closes and you are out! So at 2am Nat leaves three quarters of a pint and we head back to the hotel to bed and sweet dreams of Kim Kardashian's ass. Great last day.
