Day 112 - Montevideo to Colonia de Sacremento, Uruguay

Time to move on yet again today from Montevideo to Colonia do Sacremento which is a lovely little town about 200km up the coast and just across the river from Buenos Aires. After trying to track down Nat's sunglasses, that she had annoyingly left in the winery yesterday, to no avail we finish breakfast and head to the bus station to get the bus to Colonia. Our bus leaves at 13:30 and we arrive in Colonia at about 4:30pm. Very nice surprise on the bus when we get free wireless. It's a lovely journey through a very scenic Uruguay. Parts of it looked like a lovely English countryside along the way apart from the glorious weather.

We arrive at our hotel, Le Vrero Boutique Hotel, which handily is only 200 meters from the bus station and the port.  After dumping our bags we head to the port to get our boat tickets to BA for tomorrow and then set off for an explore around the town. It's such a green town with gorgeous birch trees twinkling in the sun light over hanging each road.

We make our way down to the old town and stumble across a restaurant that was recommended in the guide book called the Drugstore. It's such a nice restaurant and really quirky.

We spot the biggest moth we have ever seen. It was easily the size of a tennis ball. Even I would struggle to grab this one with my hands to get it out of a room. That said, it was so big it could probably just fly through a closed window with ease.

They had an old car outside with a little table in where you could eat. Really cool.

Sat outside in the glorious sunshine.

After we walk down to the water to watch one of the most amazing sunsets we have seen. Absolutely stunning although iPhone pics don't do the colours justice at all.

How romantic.

We then go for a night cap in a little restaurant called El Torreon set in an old windmill.

We are all pretty knackered tonight so go back to for an early night so we are fresh to explore Colonia fully tomorrow.
