As with everything in Sungapore the airport was a delight and had one of the best installation displays we have seen. We were mesmerised by it. Nearly missed our flight watching it. It's just balls on strings that drop up and down in different patterns. Very clever.
Anyway enough of those pics (I'm doing it again!). Flight was good. Sad to leave Singapore but looking forward to Bali.
Bali looking very cloudy upon approach. The captains 29 and sunny announcement seems a little off.
We land and it couldn't be further from the truth (apart from the temperature bit). He must have been looking at the weather in Singapore. It is hammering it down. Absolutely torrential. Hope it's not here to stay.
We arrive at the hotel which never looks quite as good in the pouring rain. It's a nice place but absolutely huge and a bit package. ;-). It's not as good as our one in Phuket and a little tired and old. It also takes us about 20 mins to walk to our room from reception and that is not even through gorgeous grounds - Just whole blocks and corridors of rooms!
It stops raining for literally 10 mins before it stats again. But it's enough time to have a look around. Lovely beach and despite its size the hotel is set in lovely grounds.
Need to get involved in some bike surfing!!
Spot of lunch as the heaven open again. Great Greek sandwich of all things. The rain gets ridiculous though. As our table is half outside the umbrella and on a slope I have to build a dam to stop the deluge of water landing on my lap. It doesn't work very well. I have to go double dam. Jean Claude stylee.
Rest of the day is not that interesting. As we are knackered after a jam packed four days in KL and Singapore we go for an afternoon nap and then a good work out (excellent gym in the hotel, best yet which pleases us).
That evening we take the hotel up on their very kind offer of all you can eat Sushi in one of ther five restaurants. It is superb. Such a great spread. All the good stuff on offer.
Round one ding ding.
See picture above for round two and three!! ;-)
After that we head to bed for a nice early night. Back at the room we have a lovely heart felt message from Caroline and Dave left for us. ;-) I know how long you must have deliberated over what to write! (Thanks guys xx)
Feeling a bit sad with it being Christmas Eve. Really missing our family today. It suddenly hits us today that we are away for Christmas but we have a great day planned for tomorrow. Hope Santa knows where to redirect our pressies! ;-)
PS my attempt to get a better room by saying it was out honey moon when we booked didn't quite pay off. The result was 1) this...
Supposed to say congratulations.
And 2) everyone we meet who works for the hotel saying congratulations!!
Aaaaah.....Congratlations you newly wedded love birds!!! That is soooo funny! Sorry about the rain and brooding skies casting a bit of a shadow on your arrival in that paradise.....but it still looks gorgeous!!! Sushi meal was PHENOMENAL.....total jealousy hit me hard at that point....!!!!! Love and hugs...take great care! Eric xxxxxxxxx
