Nice surprise last night behind woken up by two very excited Mothers who were out for Christmas dinner together. We miss you all!
The not so close up 'non face time' version.
Bright start in KL this morning as we head to TBS (the main southern bus station) to get out bus to Singapore.
After a lot of misinformation by the people that worked at the bus station we finally find the right bus with the right ticket in hand. This is the most pimp bus we have ever been on. It's is pretty much the same as flying BA business. We get a TV with films on (so much for the Malaysian country side as we settle in to watch Life of Pi), wifi and even an inbuilt massage machine in the seat. It's amazing. Didn't want to journey to end but end it did 6 hours later.
We choose to sit downstairs so we can sit next to each other (bless!). Upstairs is even pimper though.
Nat finds the massage controller.
Naturally we had a very efficient crossing of the border into Singapore. First view of the sky line as we are dropped off at Beach Road at about 2.30pm. First impressions of Singapore are very good. The city looks amazing and despite the draconian laws it has some fantastic architecture and is so well designed and clean.
We are staying in the Bliss Hotel in China town which is a nice little boutique hotel.

Lots of decorations around China Town.
Pagoda Street, China Town.
Such amazing buildings in Singapore. Definitely a theme of trying to include greenery into the building.
Even the police station looks beautiful. This was my favourite.
We have a wander through towards the marina. When we get there we see one of the coolest buildings I have ever seen called the Marina Sands hotel. Shaped like a giant ship on the roof. It has a fantastic bar and restaurant on top called Ku De Ta which we wil go to tomorrow. Quick drink at a nice bar called Supply & Demand. Well needed after a fair amount of walking. At least it is not quite as hot here as it was in KL.
View from across the marina. We wonder what all the white balls in the water are.
But then we find out. They are for writing messages on for New Year.
Our message to all our friends and family.
Look out for it if you see any footage of Singapore new year celebrations!
What a place for a game of footie. A football statium in the middle of the marina. To the right of this is a huge stand. Not sure who plays here.
Cool Museum with the Chanel 'Little Black Jacket' exhibition in that we will need to come back to tomorrow for Mrs B.
After we head back to China Town to a hawkers (street food) market called Maxwell Food Court. Unfortunately we are a little late and a lot of the stalls were closed otherwise it would have been great.
Big day tomorrow as we have so much to do. We are absolutely loving Singapore. It is like a city of the future and so western. Definitely a place you could easily live for a while. Look forward to more exploring tomorrow.
