Day 31 - Phuket, Thailand

Wow! One month down already. Starting to feel like we have been away for ages. Having the time of our lives though and well in the swing of things now.

Another relatively brief update today as not much happens when you are chilling by the pool all day. :-)

We had another great gym session first thing then head back to Sabai Sabai restaurant for breakfast. Then to the pool. Another scorcher today.

Randomly as Nat gets browner her forehead looks dirtier and dirtier. Not sure if it's a birth mark or uneven tanning due to her makeup!

Daily routine of happy hour.

In the evening we decide to head to Phuket Town which is about half an hour north in a taxi. Now if anyone reading this is ever contemplating visiting here then DONT. What a waste of a taxi fare and two hours that was. The place is weird. Desolate, scruffy, empty and derelict. We walk around for an hour or so trying to find a place to eat to no avail. For once Lonely Planets description of a traditional and gentrified is way off the mark.

We did however find one great bar, modelled on an old American gas station called Ploenchit bar. Could have been straight out of Shoreditch. Still didn't make the journey worthwhile though.

We jump in a cab and head back to the esplanade back in Panwa just down from our hotel. We definitely picked the right part of the island to stay in. It really is lovely around our hotel. We eat at a fish restaurant called Panwa House.

The fish was delicious. Although the rock lobster a little disappointing and we were lacking the right instruments to attack the crab properly. We now can't get the Fanily Guy rock lobster tune out of our heads. Ding du du du du du du du du du.

Then back to hotel as we have an early start tomorrow. Going island hopping in a speed boat and to visit the beach from the film the Beach.
