Day 2 - Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Woke up to Victoria Secrets show on the TV - the only way to start the day!!!

Great breakfast on roof of hotel then set off to see Notre Dame (yes there is one here too courtesy of the French)

Visited the post office across the road which is actually far more interesting than it sounds. Certainly no similarities with the benefit ridden Kentish Town high street version.

Then had a good walk around in the oppressive heat. Very humid here - we were all secretly jealous of fan man with his smug face and non sweaty back. Not sure what Lynne is up to though. ;-)

After a few cold beers to cool down we head to the 51st floor of the Bitexco Tower, HCMCs tallest building, avoiding the cover charge by going to the bar instead of the viewing gallery (naturally). Great views of the city. Also turns out EY are actually based in this building too - sorry for work chat)

After a good old explore we tried to get in Notre Dame for the second time today but yet again failed as it is only open for one hour in the afternoon. Clearly French influenced with them knocking off so early.

Customary meet on the roof for a drink then off to dinner at a gorgeous local Vietnamese place set in an old house that came highly recommended called Cuc Gach Quan. Food was amazing!!

Gorgeous setting. Never take kids here as it's a death trap eg this route to a table upstairs... Climbing out of the toilet window.

Fashion show on the terrace.
Thought I'd add one with me in it (thinking of my audience obvs)

Then onto a big moment in anyone's holiday. Hard Rock Cafe. For those that are unaware of our guilty pleasure we LOVE Hard Rock (well 2/5 of our group do!) and I buy a glass from each one we go to, so look out for plenty more pics (particularly as I am not going to be able to buy a glass from every one due to luggage constraints)

A great Hard Rock though... We absolutely rocked this joint!!!

Nat on drums of course!!!

Now the night turned pretty random from here. As we were the last out of Hard Rock we had to exit through a car park (the hottest one in the world at that). What we were not expecting is an absolutely pumping hard core rave club that was huge and absolutely rammed wall to wall (at 1am on a Monday night at that!!!) Rude not to...

Yes they are half naked Ho Chi Minions on stage.

Ps. Caroline hates beer but it was that or a bottle for the table.

PPS. Mark Heyes. You need to up your profile. Playing Akinator (a 20 question app) earlier on and trying to get it to guess who you are it came up with this....

Classic!!!
Right sleep time. 6.30 start tomorrow x
