Day 135 - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

We wake up this morning and head to breakfast at my favourite place for breakfast in Vegas - Mr Lucky's. Such a cool diner in the middle of the casino.

We then head to the pool for the day which surprisingly has a DJ playing and is pretty banging today. It is a little bit cooler today as the wind has picked up a bit so going in the water is a tad chilly.

Randomly the ex model Caprice is staying here too and by the pool with us. She seems really nice and joins in with a hilarious group who were really going for it in the pool dancing (she is in the bright yellow bikkini).

She has definitely kept herself in shape and still has a mighty fine six pack.

The lovely Nirvana pool.

Forgot that this place has a proper beach leading into the pool with really nice sand.

We head back to the room at about 5pm to go to the gym and both have a great work out in the awesome gym they have here. It has been the longest I have been without going to the gym since I was 16 - nearly 6 weeks and 4 weeks since I have even been for a run. Definitely need to get back into it.

After the gym we get ready and head to Planet Hollywood which always surprises us in how good it is. It's a really cool hotel with some realy good bars.

We start off in Rock Bar.

Then onto one in the middle of the casino called Extra Lounge where they had a good band playing.

The Planet Hollywood casino floor.

Gordon Ramsey is taking over Vegas. This is his burger place aptly called Burger. God know what the gas bill is like in this place as they have a huge fire show piece on the way in.

View of the City Centre from Planet Hollywood.

And the view of Planet Hollywood.

After PH we head over the road to the Cosmopolitan to a place recommended by the Wallpapet guide for dinner called China Poblano. It's a really interesting concept and a first for me - a Mexican Chinese. The menu is split half and half between things like Tacos, Ceviche for the Mexican side and then Dim Sum, Noodles, Soups etc for the Chinese side.

The food was absolutely delicious although we over ordered and ended up in food coma! The restaurant decor was also really cool.

After we had a walk around the Cosmo and finished our red wine in the bar in the casino. I then made the foolish error of going back to the gambling tables when I am up. This time I fancied a bit of Roulette and very quickly lost $60. Oh well, still up over all. I'm sure this won't be the case after tomorrow evening when I have "a flutter for the road". Back to Black Jack tomorrow though.

We then head back to our hotel for a drink in the bar there and do what we love doing best - sitting at a Hard Rock bar listening to and watching the amazingn music on the big screens. At about 1:30 we call it a night and head back to our ridiculously comfortable bed that is a strong contender for most comfortable bed of the trip.

Cool Led Zep picks by the lift.

Tipsy and tired look from Nat.

Day 134 - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Time for a Vegas pool party today. Rehab at the Hard Rock isn't open yet so we decided to go to one of the newest ones called Encore Beach Club at the Encore.

But first thing is first. Face time our mothers for Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day to you both. Then check out of the Super 8 which surpringly was a really comfortable nights sleep. After checking out we dump the car and our stuff at Hard Rock Hotel and get a can to EBC (Encore Beach Club). Before we head in we grab some breakfast in Society Cafe in Encore and then it's time to party!!!

We arrive and the place is pumping. For those that don't know these Vegas pool parties are like day clubs. Pumping loud music, thousands of people, lots of booze and lots of skimpy swimming costumes. As per usual there is nowhere to sit without paying a huge amount of money for a bed, sofa or cabana so we find our little spot sitting on the edge of a wall and grab a $12 beer!! Ouch. This place must make a phenomenal amount of money.

The place is gorgeous as you would expect from the Wynn/Encore. There is a long pool down the middle with pimp cabanas all around the edge. I wish we could get a big enough group out here one day to get one ourselves.

Where we are perched is a prime people watching spot. It is so funny to watch. The girls on front of us are particularly hilarious. They were six strippers on a day off although the way they were acting you wouldn't think they were on a day off. So much flirting, everything they did like pick up a drink, take a high heel off et they did in the most overtly sexual way and they were constantly slapping each other's asses and kissing each other. Oh and I have never seen so many selfies in all my life. Very entertaining. I almost felt like I should have stuck a tip in their bikkini at the end for the show.

This is Nat's girl crush - the waitress, and I must admit I am in full agreement with her. I was very obliging when she asked me to get a picture of her. :-)

Me on my ledge.

The DJ box. Robin Thicke officially opens ECB here next weekend. God knows what this place is like when it is properly "open". Looked pretty damn open today.

What it does confirm is how weird Americans are and how different to the English. The Americans can often be loud, over confident and in your face and are usually covered in tattoos. I have never seen so many girls with full sleeve tattoos. They love them out here. They also have the skimpiest costumes on with no regard to their actual body shape and weight.  The English on the other hand are naturally a lot more reserved in their body language and the way they carry themselves is a bit cooler. It's quite strange that before you even talk to them, you can tell which groups are English and which are American, in fact you can spot them a mile away.

Thought we'd join the thousands of people who are constantly taking selfies.

More selfies from the fittest hen do ever (Nat's words not mine).

At about 6pm we get a cab back to Hard Rock and check in. We have a room facing the famous rehab pool. Would love to be overlooking this in a few weeks time. We are loving being back at the Hard Rock. It is such a cool hotel and really laid back vibe. As always the music is great and when we get to our room there is an hour long Pearl Jam documentary on. Brilliant!

Fantastic views of the sky over the strip. Looks like it is on fire.

That evening we are pretty knackered after a big night last night and a party day so decided to just stay around the hotel tonight.

Me and my new top and boots!

We go for dinner at Culinary Dropout which is a new restaurant in the hotel. It's a really cool restaurant and does some great pork ribs! Thought I would order these as I have seen so many pork straps today.

After a walk around the casino we decide to head for an early night. Looking forward to a relaxing day by the pool tomorrow.
